GMO Free Living @ GoFundMe

My husband and I recently started a fund to help Educate others about GMO Free Living. This is a HUGE projects and every little bit helps! We hope to be able to help build several on-school gardens.
PLUS there are rewards (like seeds and ad links on fb)!

In the past I have gone to local schools for a day of planting non-gmo, heirloom seeds and we've had a blast...The kids had fun to!  This is an expansion of that program.   One we hope will carry on for many years.
Check out Educate and Promote GMO Free Living on GoFundMe.
Even $5 will make a difference. *Share it*Tweet it*Pin it*

Our Goal is to raise GMO Free awareness through social and educational programs throughout the country.

We currently work with several schools to share growing information as well as donations of non-gmo seeds to teachers, students and school staff.

Are GMOs Safe?
From IRT :
"Before the FDA decided to allow GMOs into food without labeling, FDA scientists had repeatedly warned that GM foods can create unpredictable, hard-to-detect side effects, including allergies, toxins, new diseases, and nutritional problems. They urged long-term safety studies, but were ignored."

I am surprised at the number of people who ask me "What's a GMO?"  The short answer is
GMOs
“genetically modified organisms,” are plants or animals created through the gene splicing techniques of biotechnology (also called genetic engineering, or GE). This experimental technology merges DNA from different species, creating unstable combinations of plant, animal, bacterial and viral genes that cannot occur in nature or in traditional crossbreeding.  -from Non-GMO Project

Would you help us raise the quality of public education and discussion on the issue?

Would you join us in publicly expressing concern about development and promotion of GM technology?

I just found your blog through Grow Your Blog Networking Party, and I got to say I love it! I am wanting to learn more about living a more organic lifestyle and growing my own food.

Now what exactly is GMO? I know that I have heard the term before, but I am not sure what it is.
