California State Specific Seed Planting for November

You may have already seen our November Seed Planting Guide for the US by Region.  I thought it would be nice to offer a State-Specific Guide as well.  Over the next few days I'll be sharing all 50 states!

SAN DIEGO / SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
Now is a great time to FEED your Garden with Organic Plant Nutrients! 

Veggies: Artichoke, BEANS, Beets, Broccoli, Cabbage, Chinese Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflower, Collards, EGGPLANT, Endive, Kale, Kohlrabi, Leek, Lettuce, Mustard, Onion, Peas, Rutabagas, Spinach, Swiss Chard and Turnips

Herbs: Anise, Basil, Borage, Chives, Chervil, Cilantro, Coriander, Lemon Bee Balm, Parsley, Peppermint, Rosemary, Sage, Sorrel, Thyme and Tarragon. 

Flowers:  Bachelor's Buttons, Calendulas,  Cosmos,  Daisies, Forget-Me-Nots, Marigolds, Nasturtiums, Sunflowers, Yarrow and Zinnias.


CENTRAL & NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

Time to plant "Cool Weather" crops! 

Veggies: Arugula, Beans, Beets, Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflower, Celery (mild winter climates), Collards, Fennel, Kale, Kohlrabi, Lettuce, Mustard greens, Onions (bulbing & bunching--standard onions harvested before they form bulbs), Pak Choy (Bok choy), Peas, Potatoes, Radishes, Rutabaga, Spinach, Swiss Chard and Turnips

Herbs: Cilantro, Parsley and Sage

  1. I never thought of doing a second planting of basil right now.

    I'll have to do that and maybe try a third planting of beets. something keeps eating mine as soon as they sprout.
